~Bradley vs Marquez preview, results, discussion, PPV live fight coverage October 12″

The world are looking for the great HBO Fight Bradley vs Marquez  on 12 OCT.2013″Although they never faced each other in the much-requested dream bout, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Manny Pacquiao have topped most pay-per-view telecasts of the past five years.
Mayweather and Pacquiao helped boxing transition from its previous crossover attraction — Oscar De La Hoya.

Now the sport looks for an evolution of new pay-per-view headliners and having connections to Mayweather and Pacquiao helps.

On Saturday night, common Mayweather and Pacquiao opponent Juan Manuel Marquez will attempt to win a fifth division world when he fights defending welterweight champion Timothy Bradley at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. The Bradley-Marquez fight will be the first noteworthy pay-per-view event that will not feature Mayweather or Pacquiao since Sergio Martinez fought Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. , in September of 2012.

“I want to be part of Marquez’s legacy and by me beating Marquez that — right there — will make me one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world,” Bradley said.

Bradley (30-0, 12 KOs) captured his second division world title when he won a controversial decision against Pacquiao for the World Boxing Organization welterweight belt in June 2012.

Instead of reveling in the euphoria of pinning the first loss against Pacquiao in seven years, Bradley had to deal with critics’ charges that he was the beneficiary of a gift decision. Moreover, in his first title defense against Ruslan Provodnikov on March 16, Bradley survived a late brutal assault from his Russian-born challenger and escaped with a tight unanimous decision victory.

Bradley, 30, suffered a concussion in the Provodnikov bout but says he has been medically cleared to fight Marquez, whose last ring appearance was a sixth-round knockout win over Pacquiao in December.
“A lot of fighters don’t know that there is a lot of help out there for these concussions,” Bradley said. “My friends in the NFL got me the right treatment and I saw doctors out of New York, Long Beach [Calif.], that could aid and assist me with therapy work.
“Everything is back to normal now. I feel 100 percent and I never worried.”

Meanwhile, Marquez (55-6-1, 40 KOs) is riding the high of stopping Pacquiao after three disputed decisions in their previous fights. Marquez, who turned 40 on Aug. 23, will have a second attempt at a 147-pound title following a lopsided loss against Mayweather four years ago.

“While I never thought that I would be fighting at this age, I have never felt that I should retire just because of my age,” said Marquez, who began his string of world titles as a featherweight and eventually won belts in the junior-lightweight, lightweight and junior-welterweight divisions. “My body continues to feel good and mentally I feel at the top of my game.
“The key has been my ability to stay focused on what I need to do between fights and once I get into training camp — the ability to work hard and stay disciplined.”
In the Bradley-Marquez undercard, Puerto Rico’s Orlando Cruz (20-2, 10 KOs) will fight Mexico’s Orlando Salido for the vacant WBO featherweight title. Late last year, Cruz (20-2, 10 KOs) became the first recognized active fighter to reveal that he is gay.
Salido (39-12, 27 KOs) is a former featherweight titleholder whose signature performances were two knockout wins over ex-champion Juan Manuel Lopez.

Late Saturday
Miguel Cotto snapped a two-fight losing streak with a third-round technical knockout victory over Delvin Rodriguez before 11,912 Saturday at the Amway Center in Orlando.

Cotto (38-4, 31 KOs) pressured Rodriguez from the opening seconds with combinations to the body. In the closing seconds of the second round, Cotto wobbled Rodriguez with a right and left hook to the head.
Cotto went for the finish at the start of the third as he dropped a fading Rodriguez (28-7-3) with a right to the head and two hooks to the body.
Referee Frank Santore stopped the junior-middleweight bout at 18 seconds of the round.
Familiar foes
Rau’shee Warren and Errol Spence, teammates on the 2012 U.S. Olympic boxing team, will fight in separate undercard bouts of a card Oct. 14 at the BB&T Center in Sunrise.
The show’s main event will match junior-middleweights Jermell Charlo (21-0, 10 KOs) and Jose Rodriguez (17-2, 2 KOs) in a scheduled 10-round bout. For information, call 800-745-3000.

BRADLEY VS. MARQUEZ LIVE Fighting tv Online Free HD Channel.

It's Monday. Welcome back for another edition of Observe and Fight, The Boxing Observer's compilation of observations and random thoughts from the past 2 weeks in boxing. Get caught up on some of the most recent events you may have missed out on, including a preview of this weekend's big pay-per-view showdown, a dominant return by Miguel Cotto, another lackluster victory by Wladimir Klitschko, my Chavez Jr. vs. Vera scorecard, Adonis Stevenson's big statement, and much more. Without further ado, check out the latest observations from the Boxing Observer, David Kassel.

  • The winner of Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Marquez should move up to #3 in the pound-for-pound rankings. I know that P4P rankings are fictitious, but Marquez is currently in the Top 5 of most rankings, and Bradley continues to receive a lack of respect from the boxing public. Regardless of the Manny Pacquiao controversial decision, Bradley is 30-0 and has defeated some of the best that boxing has to offer. Had Bradley not signed with Top Rank, I have no doubts he would have challenged Floyd Mayweather last May instead of Robert Guerrero. If Bradley wins, no matter how he looks, I feel he needs to be acknowledged as one of the best in the game. If Marquez wins, he will have defeated Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley in back-to-back fights. The winner should only trail Floyd Mayweather and Andre Ward in the P4P rankings. Plain and simple.
  • Miguel Cotto looked fantastic on Saturday night, but what should we make of his performance? Delvin Rodriguez is a solid opponent, but he has not been the same fighter since his 2-fight classic with Pawel Wolak. I actually thought Rodriguez would put up a much better showing against Cotto, but I was shocked at the lack of respect Cotto had for Rodriguez. The Miguel Cotto we saw Saturday night looked like the Miguel Cotto of old, but is that the same Miguel Cotto that would show up against a top-tier opponent? I don't think Cotto would look as spectacular against Canelo Alvarez or Sergio Martinez. Based on Cotto's comments after the fight, I would expect Cotto to face middleweight kingpin Sergio Martinez in his next fight. That bout would take place in early 2014 on HBO pay-per-view. It looks like Cotto wants to continue to work with Top Rank, which all but kills a potential clash with Canelo anytime soon.
  • Wladimir Klitschko has less potential threats to his heavyweight crown than Floyd Mayweather has to his titles. I know people are complaining about the lack of competition Mayweather has, but at least Mayweather has some serious candidates between 140-160lbs. Wladimir Klitschko just dominated who most believed was the best heavyweight outside of the Klitschko brothers. While Alexander Povetkin put up a much better fight than I thought he would, he was still knocked down 4 times and lost every round in the fight. Wladimir Klitschko does not have a serious threat to his heavyweight crown (neither does Vitali for that matter). The only legitimate threat I see to either man is Deontay Wilder, but Wilder is still 3 or 4 fights away from being ready. I need to see Wilder tested, or dominate a real contender before he is ready. Everyone else is either too slow or too small.
  • What was the big controversy over the Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Bryan Vera decision? Sometimes, activity does not win a fight. After watching this fight 3 times, I gave it to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Through the first 7 rounds, I only had Vera winning the 5th. I understand that Chavez Jr. prepared for this fight like a unprofessional teenager, but if Vera was willing to agree to terms to get paid, he has to accept the consequences. The weight was most definitely the biggest factor in the fight because Chavez Jr. was certainly landing the more effective shots. Vera's punches, when landed cleanly, did not even back Chavez Jr. up. Most of Vera's punches were blocked by Chavez Jr., who displayed a strong defense. If you were to look at the 2 fighters faces after the fight, it looks like Chavez Jr. lost, but JCC Jr. happens to bruise easier than Bryan Vera. Look at Manny Pacquiao after some of the fights when he wins convincingly. His face looks like it went through a meat grinder, but nobody is complaining he lost the fight. I believe that the backlash from this decision came from the fact that Chavez Jr. acted completely unprofessionally and made a lot of fight fans angry. At the end of the day, if you can take your personal bias out of the equation, it should be clear as day that Chavez Jr. beat Bryan Vera. If the two fighters face off in a rematch at 168 lbs, maybe Vera's punches do some more damage, but they sure didn't win him the fight with Chavez Jr. the first time around. Chavez Jr. won the fight 96-94.
  • Adonis Stevenson is proving to me that he is the real deal. Make no mistake about it, Tavoris Cloud is the real deal. Nobody has ever been able to make Cloud quit the way Stevenson did. I said that Stevenson needed to box, and not brawl, to beat Cloud. I just wasn't sure Stevenson was capable of executing that type of game plan. Stevenson showed me that and much more. He is the best light heavyweight in Canada, and I think he will beat the winner of Lucian Bute vs. Jean Pascal should he fight the winner of that January bout. I would personally love to see Stevenson face Andre Ward if Ward moves up to light heavyweight. I believe the more likely scenario we'll see is Ward vs. Chavez Jr. at 168 and Stevenson vs. the winner of Bute/Pascal at 175. If Ward and Stevenson continue to win, we'll see Ward vs. Stevenson in late 2014.
  • Terence Crawford was very unimpressive Saturday night. Maybe Crawford wanted to make sure he didn't put himself in any danger of blowing a championship title opportunity in his unanimous decision victory over Andrey Klimov, but Klimov had nothing to offer Crawford. I thought Crawford should have stepped it up to go for the knockout. Crawford is the best the lightweight division has to offer and nobody is even close (with the expection of Adrien Broner, who isn't coming back down to 135). Crawford should clean out the 135lb division over the next year before moving up to 140lbs.
  • The undercard for Bradley vs. Marquez is nothing to scoff at. The co-feature will be a war between Orlando Salido and Orlando Cruz. Vasyl Lomachenko's professional debut is very appealing because he is going 10 rounds against Jose Ramirez. Lomachenko has never gone more than 3 rounds as an amateur, and that's with headgear. How will he handle the punishment later in the fight? I think he is going to need to knock Ramirez (25-3 15 KO's) out within the first 5 rounds or he might be in serious trouble.
  • Does anyone think Jessie Vargas is regretting his decision to leave Mayweather Promotions to sign with Top Rank? Vargas probably thought he would get more TV dates and a shot to be a welterweight player, but all he's gotten out of the deal is a few TV appearances on low-level boxing broadcasts. This weekend is no different as he headlines an UniMas TV card on Friday night as a prelude to Bradley vs. Marquez. The fact that Vargas couldn't get himself into position to open up the PPV should tell you what Top Rank thinks of him as a fighter.
  • It's looking more and more likely that Amir Khan will face Floyd Mayweather in May. The fact that Khan has played more games regarding an Alexander or Mayweather fight than Elizabeth Taylor has had marriages shows that Khan is holding out for a Mayweather clash without taking any risks. Luis Collazo, a native of Queens, was mentioned as a possible opponent for Alexander after Khan fell out, but now it looks like Shawn Porter is taking Collazo's spot. Why not have Khan take on Collazo as the main event December 7th, with Malignaggi vs. Judah as the co-feature? If Khan cannot beat Collazo, he certainly will be out of the running for a Mayweather fight, and that card will draw plenty of interest in NYC.

PACQUIAO VS BRADLEY LIVE STREAM HBO BOXING.

In a summer that was dominated by hype for one of the biggest fights in recent memory, this Saturday night’s clash for the WBO Welterweight Championship is just now getting the attention it deserves.
Can Timothy Bradley remain undefeated and score the biggest victory of his career? Or will Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez add another world championship to an already Hall of Fame-worthy career?
Wednesday afternoon, the two men will meet face-to-face for the final press conference ahead of their big fight. Given the amount of trash talk they’ve engaged in during the past few months, you can be sure it’ll be explosive.

Where: Wynn Resort, Las Vegas, Nev.
When: 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT
The hype for this bout has already produced plenty of jaw-dropping moments, and you can get the sense from watching HBO’s 24/7 Bradley vs. Marquez that the two fighters really aren’t very fond of each other. That should make for an interesting trip to the podium Wednesday in Las Vegas.
Timothy Bradley is undefeated in 30 professional bouts. He’s captured world championships in both the 140- and 147-pound divisions, and is looking to make the sort of statement that catapults his career to the next level.
He went toe-to-toe with the rugged Ruslan Provodnikov in his last bout, and showed an ability to win a fight that takes place far outside his normal comfort zone. It was his first time in the ring since scoring a hotly disputed split decision over Manny Pacquiao—to capture the welterweight title—last June.
Juan Manuel Marquez is a legend, and he’s one of the greatest fighters of all time to come out of the fighting-crazed nation of Mexico. He’ll be looking to capture a world championship in a fifth weight class.
He’ll be fighting for the first time since scoring a stunning sixth-round knockout over longtime rival Pacquiao in December. It was a career-defining victory, and finally forced the 40-year-old out of boxing’s shadows and into the mainstream.

Bradley vs. Marquez: Fight Preview (HBO Boxing)

WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley explains why he took a pass on a Manny Pacquiao rematch and selected former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez as his next opponent. The fight is scheduled to take place on October 12th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the fight.

Timothy Bradley: Greatest Hits

Question: Bradley – Why did you choose Marquez as your next opponent instead of a rematch with Pacquiao?

Bradley: I have always been more interested in looking for new challenges than in doing what has been expected.  Though I was offered a rematch with Manny Pacquiao in Macau, the opportunity to fight another legend of my era — Juan Manuel Márquez — had far more appeal to me for several reasons.

Márquez is a boxing legend and a Méxican icon. He is coming off a career-best victory over his professional nemesis Manny Pacquiao. I am coming off my two career-best victories — over Pacquiao and Ruslan Provodnikov. It just made sense for me to fight Márquez next. Bradley vs. Márquez — a battle between the only two fighters to have beaten Manny Pacquiao in the past seven years. It got me excited as a fighter and as a fan. It was a no-brainer for me.

Challenges are what I am all about. They invigorate me. And the chance to fight Márquez in front of his legion of loyal Hispanic fans?  Heck, I’m riding that wave. I live for a fight like this. He wants to make history by being the first Méxican fighter to win five world titles in five different weight divisions. Chávez, Morales and Barrera never did that. I know he wants to make history. But I want to make my own history and beating Márquez and denying him of his ultimate goal, in the boxing capital of the world, will do just that.

If Manny Pacquiao can beat Brandon Rios in November than maybe we can have our rematch after that fight.  But timing is everything and the time for Bradley vs. Márquez is NOW.  I choose the battles I want to fight and I want to fight Márquez. This is my time.

24/7 Bradley/Marquez debuts Sat., Sept. 28 on HBO immediately after World Championship Boxing tripleheader.

Bradley vs. Marquez welterweight title fight takes place Sat., Oct. 12 live on HBO Pay-Per-View beginning at 9:00pm ET/6:00pm PT.

It’s just 25 days until undefeated World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley, Jr. and four-division world champion and Méxican icon Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Márquez, both coming off Fight of the Year performances, collide in a battle for Bradley’s world title. The only two fighters to have defeated Fighter of the Decade Manny Pacquiao in the past seven years, Bradley vs. Márquez will take place Saturday, October 12, at the Thomas & Mack Center, on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View, beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT.

The undercard includes #1 contender Orlando Cruz (20-2-1, 10 KOs), boxing’s first openly gay fighter, against former two-time featherweight champion Orlando “Siri” Salido (39-12-2, 27 KOs) for the vacant WBO featherweight title, two-time Ukrainian Olympic gold medalist Vasyl “The Great” Lomachenko making his professional debut in a 10-round featherweight bout against WBO #7 rated Jose Luis Ramirez (24-2-2, 15 KOs), and undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) Americas light heavyweight champion “Irish” Seanie Monaghan (18-0, 11 KOs) risking his title, undefeated record and top-10 rating against Anthony Caputo-Smith (14-1, 10 KOs).

Bradley vs. Marquez: ‘Desert Storm’ Right to Push for Strict Drug Testing

In the aftermath of his stunning sixth-round knockout victory over Manny Pacquiao this past December, Juan Manuel Marquez met with a fair amount of skepticism from a boxing public stunned over the outcome and his newly chiseled physique.

His association with Angel “Memo” Heredia—who goes by the name Angel Hernandez—raised additional flags for many, as Memo had been associated with the BALCO scandal. He avoided jail time only by becoming a witness for the federal government.

Other than innuendo and conjecture, no evidence has surfaced implicating that Marquez sought or used any performance-enhancing drugs for his fight with Pacquiao or anyone else.

But in a combat sport, you can never be too careful, and that’s why his next opponent, Timothy Bradley, is right for insisting on stringent testing requirements for their October bout on HBO pay-per-view.

Bradley’s team has indicated that the contract for their bout requires both United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) testing and the much more rigorous requirements of the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).

According to Bradley, Marquez was initially reluctant about the inclusion of VADA, and a compromise was reached to use both labs. In his last bout, with Russian RuslanProvodnikov, Bradley submitted to VADA testing.

Marquez now seems willing to participate in the programs, but Top Rank CEO Bob Arum appears to be attempting a last-minute switcheroo. He wants the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which is known for its lapsed standards, to administer testing instead.

For his part, Bradley indicated that if Marquez weren’t subjected to the USADA andVADA testing, then the fight wouldn’t happen, according to Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times. And who can blame him?

Nobody is saying that Marquez is doing anything illegal. You can draw your own conclusions from his associations and his newfound muscle. It’s possible that his improved physique is the result of a new training regimen and hard work, as he hasstated on more than one occasion.

But Bradley, or any other fighter for that matter, needs to be sure. There should be no disagreement or negotiations when it comes to strict drug testing in any fight.

Boxers are trained to land punches that maximize their impact. It’s a dangerous game, and everyone who signs up for it knows the inherent risks.

Fighters and fans understand that any punch could end a career or even someone’s life. That risk is more amplified when a fighter is using a substance designed to make him hit harder or faster.

Boxing needs some sort of universal standard to root this problem out of the sport. It’s not baseball, where PEDs result in a few more home runs or strikeouts. In boxing, they can end a life.

Bradley is 100 percent correct for threatening to pull out of the fight without strict drug testing in place. And more specifically, he’s right for insisting that VADA be the organization to administer the testing.

Unlike many other protocols for PED testing, VADA does not provide any sort of advance notice before administering a test.

Is it perfect? Not by a long shot. It’s hard to imagine perfection ever coming when there is such an incentive to use better, stronger and harder-to-detect substances that enhance performance.

But right now, VADA is the best we have. And Bradley should stick to his guns. Either Marquez takes the tests, or Bradley walks away.

After all, it’s his life on the line, and no amount of money can replace it.
